I don't usually write posts like this one — most of what I put out is meant to actually help you make a decision, and I hope this week's posts did that. But I wanted to end the week with something a little more personal, because I think it matters, and because I don't say it enough.
Every sale I've worked on in Cabot has come with its own story — a family growing out of a starter home, someone downsizing after years in the same house, a job change that means starting over somewhere new. The house itself is almost never the whole point. It's what the house represents to the people living in it, and what the next chapter looks like once they've moved on from it.
I've sat across the table from sellers who were genuinely emotional about leaving a home, even when the move was entirely their choice and the right one. That doesn't surprise me anymore, but it still means something every time. Helping someone navigate that — not just the paperwork, but the actual transition — is the part of this job I take most seriously.
I could do this work anywhere, but I do it here because Cabot actually has the thing a lot of places only claim to have — a real sense of community. I see it in how sellers talk about their neighbors, how buyers ask about the schools before they ask about square footage, how often "we want our kids to grow up here" comes up in a conversation that's supposedly about a house.
That context changes how I think about every listing. It's not just "how do we get this sold." It's "how do we help this family move forward, in a community that clearly means something to the people living in it."
If you're getting ready to sell, I hope this changes how you think about the process a little — not just as a transaction to survive, but as a genuine transition worth doing well, with someone who actually cares about getting it right for you specifically.
And if you're not selling right now, and you've just been following along with this series — I hope it's given you a clearer picture of what actually goes into this, and maybe a little more appreciation for the place we all get to call home.
To everyone who's read through this series, watched the videos, or reached out with a question — thank you. This work only means something because of the people I get to do it for and with. I don't take that for granted.
If you're thinking about your own next chapter, I'd genuinely love to talk it through with you. Call or text Catarina at 209-985-6476, or visit www.ar-property.com. Se habla Español | Falo Português.
